Tratzberg Castle offers its guests the audio guide in a total of 9 different languages during the guided tours. There are 4 further language versions especially for children aged 4 and over, as an exciting fairytale tour! The device for this is of course included in the admission price. For those who prefer to use their own smartphone as an audio guide, we even offer our audio guide via our free smartphone app. This is available to download for Android and iPhone in the respective stores!

Use your own mobile phone as an audio guide and save € 1.50 on the admission price. Simply download the app and show it at the ticket desk when you buy your ticket. You will then not only receive the activation code for the audio guide, but also an additional discount on your admission. And the best thing about it: you can then listen to the tour again at home at your leisure!

And this is how it works:

  • Search for the free ‘Tratzberg Castle’ app in the Google PlayStore or Apple APP Store
  • Download and install the app before your visit to Tratzberg Castle
  • Let the ticket office at Tratzberg Castle know that you would like to use your own mobile phone as an audio guide
  • You will then receive a free, four-digit access code for the APP (and a discount on your admission price).
  • Via the main menu (top left) you can select your desired language or tour option.
  • The selection of the individual rooms is self-explanatory and simple. Please follow the instructions and recommendations of the tour guide.


Your mobile phone can be used as a ‘handset’ as normal or can be paired with a mobile hands-free device (e.g. headphones). Please note that you CANNOT use the loudspeaker function with the audio guide. This is to ensure that our other guests are not disturbed.

For adults AND children

We offer two different versions of the audio guides:

  • A classic cultural guide for adults with lots of information about Tratzberg Castle. Former prominent residents personally guide you through the historic rooms. The Tratzberg Castle audio guide is available for adults in a total of 9 languages: German, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Hungarian, Japanese and Chinese.
  • Children can look forward to their own audio guide in the form of an exciting fairytale story about Tratzberg Castle. The friendly castle ghost Tratzi guides children aged 4 and over through the castle together with his mouse friend Adele in an entertaining and exciting way. This fairytale tour is available in 4 languages: German, English, Italian and Dutch
