1. Special guided tour "Maximilian"

This very special tour of Tratzberg Castle is very rare and takes visitors, in addition to the “normally visitable” rooms, into the mysterious chambers of Emperor Maximilian I. He used Tratzberg Castle as his personal hunting lodge before exchanging it to the wealthy Tänzl brothers after a serious fire in 1492. They rebuilt the castle in its present form and paid homage to the Holy Roman Emperor and the entire Habsburg dynasty by preserving the original rooms of His Majesty.

Visit these impressive rooms and learn even more secrets about the hidden rooms on a personal guided tour. Who was the emperor really? How did he live at Tratzberg Castle? And what does the movie “Die Wanderhure” have to do with Tratzberg Castle?

2. Special tour "Virtual journey through time"

Experience the history of Tratzberg Castle up close as an upgrade to the “normal” tour: using state-of-the-art 3D virtual reality glasses, you can experience how Tratzberg Castle was built, how it burned to the ground in a major fire in 1492 and how it was then rebuilt by the Tänzl brothers and has been preserved to this day as one of the best-preserved Renaissance castles in Austria. Thanks to VR glasses, you can experience this spectacle from your own perspective. You are literally in the middle of the virtual experience and travel with us through several centuries in a short space of time!
